A new geoinformation project in IGIG
07-12-2021
The National Science Centre announced the results of the OPUS21 call. The project of our employee, Dr. Eng. Pawel Boguslawski, entitled ‘New Multidimensional Data Structure for Varioscale Spatial Model Representation’ was accepted for funding. Dr Boguslawski will work on the development of a new multidimensional data structure for the simultaneous representation of spatial objects in various levels of details. It will be possible to automatically generate intermediate levels with the required granularity, and perform analysis in a specific resolution and propagate the results to the remaining levels of representation.

Special lectures on seismology
12-10-2021

Do you want to know more about the mechanisms of earthquakes? How do seismologists determine the coordinates of the epicenter? How does stress distribute and how to interpret it?
We kindly invite you to a series of meetings with Prof. Vassilios Karakostas and Prof. Eleftheria Papadimitriou from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. They will present practical approaches for solving the above mentioned questions. Both are professors in seismology at the Geophysics Department. Prof. Karakostas has strong expertise in seismology, seismotectonics, tsunami hazards, statistical seismology, seismic hazard assessment. Prof. Papadimitriou is an expert in long-term earthquake prediction, fault plane solutions and stress patterns.
