Our students with the best diploma theses in the SGP competition

The Organizing Committee of the SGP (Polish Surveyors Association) Competition for the best diploma theses defended in the field of geodesy and cartography has announced the results for the 2021/2022 edition. Among the winners of the competition, there were three theses defended at IGIG.

European internships for UPWr Master students in remote sensing and geodesy

The GATHERS project (http://www.gathers.eu/) aims to integrate geodetic techniques: GNSS, LiDAR and InSAR for monitoring and modelling of earth surface deformations and seismic risk. As part of the project, 1-month internships are organized for masters students who will prepare their masters thesis in the field of Remote Sensing and Geodesy for deformation monitoring under the supervision of a selected GATHERS mentor. GATHERS experts have strong experience using geodetic techniques for deformation monitoring, but their research interests are much broader (link to bio). If you like the analysis of geodetic data, cooperation with others and you want to learn about modern geodetic methods of deformation monitoring - apply for the Geodesy & Cartography masters studies at UPWr.

GNSS tomography - new flexible parametrization

IGiG researchers reached another milestone in GNSS tomography research. In their quest for a high versatility model to picture vertical and horizontal variation of troposphere, they developed a unique way to divide the troposphere space above the GNSS receivers network into a mesh of irregular points.
